Dave Trumfio music producer
Dave Trumfio
Owner/Producer

BIO:

"Dave Trumfio did not just drop out of the sky and appear on the Los Angeles studio scene, at the door of Gold Diggers Sound, with Kingsize Soundlabs fully formed. He actually arose out of his parent’s basement in a western suburb of Chicago in the mid-1980s, complete with Robert Smith hairdo and wearing Creepers, the variety that earned him an early nickname of Thick Soles.

But the musician-centered, DIY approach to recording and studio construction has been with him all along, from the initial Trumfio Den at age 16 with a boombox, then Fostex X15 4-track, on through the first iteration of Kingsize Soundlabs in a rented house in Rogers Park and an upgrade to 16-track." - Mix Magazine

Graeme Gibson recording engineer
Graeme Gibson
House Engineer

BIO:

Since I began my career in the late 90s, technology has vastly changed the recording industry. I was fortunate to get my start at the end of an analog era, which taught me vital technical skills and instilled deep respect for tradition and experimentation. With ever-expanding technology and possibilities, my experience and approach merges the perspectives of eras past and present.

For me, there is an inherent intrigue to the process of recording. It is a rewarding collaboration with infinitely unpredictable outcomes. It is susceptible to mood and energy, time and place. Everyone has their own process and an engineer should be a facilitator who adapts to the needs of the music  by using a knowledge of equipment and space to create the best sound.

Rob Duffy recording engineer
Rob Duffy
House Engineer

BIO:

Rob is an LA native recording engineer and musician who started at Kingsize as an intern in early 2015 and now serves as one of our house engineers. His musical interests and projects are eclectic and wide-reaching, to say the least. One day he’ll be mixing an electronic cover of “I Want It That Way” sung in Mandarin; the next he’ll be recording a black metal band, or producing a twee pop single by a group from Spain. Oh, he’s also in an emo band, and yes he is aware what year it is. Rob brings a sincere and open-minded approach to each project he works on and will also talk about Godzilla movies if you want him to. But only if you want him to.
