2017 is a tremendous year for Kingsize! Between hosting artists such as Ty Segall (recording and mixing with our very own Dave Trumfio and Celso Estrada), DeVotchKa, Cults, Twin Shadow, and many more, we have been working hard to make our studios better than ever. More details to come, but in addition to upgrading our existing studios with the latest in industry-standard equipment, we will also be opening a new facility in Hollywood sometime later this year featuring a sound stage, boutique hotel, venue/bar, and more! We are extremely excited to share with you everything we’ve been cooking up and will have all the details right here when we’re ready to show the world!
We also have some exciting new additions to our already awesome collection of instruments and gear in Studio A - a Rhodes Seventy Three with stereo tremolo and matching cabinets, along with a Hammond C3 and Leslie 147 cabinet, all in amazing condition!
Some notable record releases from the past few months by friends and clients of the Kingsize family:
Dropkick Murphys - 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory
The newest record from Celtic punk rockers Dropkick Murphys released early this year debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #8 and was produced by our friend Ted Hutt and mixed at Chateau Trumfio late last year.
Feist - Pleasure
Leslie Feist spent several scattered weeks at Chateau Trumfio as well, mixing and doing overdubs for her latest opus.
The Juju - Exchange
Nico Segal and Nate Fox, frequent collaborators of Chicago-based artist Chance the Rapper, finished up the debut LP of their brand new jazz project in Studio A, utilizing our beloved Neve 8068 and outboard gear to print the final mixdowns.
Finally, we are bringing back our annual summer studio special! Contact us for a great deal on tracking drums (or anything else!) this summer at Kingsize!
