2019 Spring Update

It has been a busy start to 2019 and we are excited to share a few updates with you! We are happy to feature some of the new projects that have come out of our other studios over the past few months. Gold-Diggers, our newest studio facility in the heart of east Hollywood, has seen a few new special guests. Goo Goo Dolls have been hard at work on their newest record with our very own founder Dave Trumfio and chief engineer Celso Estrada. After wrapping with the Goo Goo Dolls, drummer-extraodinaire and recording wizard Aaron Sterling then taught a drum recording and production clinic in our newly re-floored A room.

The newest record from Second Still, Violet Phase, features recording from Studio A and V7 and production from Ben Greenberg.

Producer Ted Hutt (Dropkick Murphies, Flogging Molly, Old Crow Medicine Show) and engineer Ryan Mall have been busy at work in Studio A and V7 with multiple projects. In addition to mixing albums for the Violent Femmes and Driftwood Soldier, he spent a productive two weeks with Tiger Army working on their upcoming record.

Matt Hyde (engineer and producer for Slayer, Seether, Porno for Pyros, Monster Magnet) took over our A room in March with Teenage Wrist. With a wall of amps in tow, they proceeded to knock three tracks out for their upcoming EP on Epitaph Records.

Miles Mosley, featured on Kamasi Washington’s The Epic, tracked his upcoming record in our A room and at 64 Sound.

John Congelton, producer for Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Erykah Badu, and Modest Mouse amongst many others, tracked in our V7 studio with singer songwriter Margaret Glaspy.

Producer Jorge Elbrecht was in our A room working on some of his own music featuring Sky Ferreira. Additionally, he produced and recorded Tamaryn‘s lovely dreampop full length, Dreaming the Dark in V7, which was just released in March.

Griff Hamlin and the Single Barrel Blues Band took over the A room with house engineer Celso Estrada for a full-band tracking extravaganza complete with a four part horn section.

Our own staff have been working hard on their music as well. Dave Trumfio, our owner and fearless leader, is currently on tour with The Mekons supporting their record Deserted, out now on Bloodshot Records. Our manager and co-owner Ronna rocked the Gold-Diggers club earlier in March with her band Skokie Girls, who are on the cusp of releasing some new music. House engineer Ian Stahl and his band Cilience have been hard at work in the A room with producer Jason Rhodes. Their single “Event Horizon” drops in early May.

Please contact us and let us help you make your recording dreams come true this summer!
